Professor Pompano is on her way to Gyeongju South Korea to the Microtas conference! She will be presenting on the device that has been designed and extensively characterized by Dr. Ashley Ross and Jacob Woodroof. Prof. Pompano visited Virginia Commonwealth University's Chemical and Life Science Engineering department yesterday, presented our work on lymph node stimulation, and had a series of stimulating conversations with the researchers there. Many thanks to Dr. Christina Tang for the invitation!
Congratulations to Ashley on being selected to give a platform talk at the 2015 UVA Postdoctoral Research Symposium! The symposium brought together postdocs and faculty from across grounds to share research and meet one another.

Undergraduate researchers Ray Ramirez, Jacob Woodroof, and Shara Fuller designed and presented a poster on their work at the state-wide 2015 ACS Undergraduate Research Poster Session, held at UVA on April 17. Congratulations!
Many thanks to the University of Chicago Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs for the invitation to speak on a career panel, "Year One as Faculty"! The 2015 GradUCon conference on April 10 was full of energy and a privilege to be a part of.
Prof. Pompano traveled to Washington, DC on March 11 to discuss the need for stable funding for biomedical research with our congresspeople. This trip was organized by the American Association of Immunologists Public Policy Fellowship Program. We met with the offices of Virginia Senator Mark Warner, Senator Tim Kaine, and Representative Robert Hurt. All were welcoming and supportive of the importance of research to improving human health and facilitating job growth in our district and state. Many thanks to all who organized this day!
